Welcome to xhalma's homepage. xhalma lets you play the game of Halma against a challenging computer opponent or another human. The main motivation for writing it came from the interest in how such game-playing programs are made. And as there is plenty of chess playing programs already I chose Halma. . .

To provide a nice user interface the game makes use of the Qt toolkit. There exists a free Qt version for X11 and a commercial version for MS Windows. xhalma should compile with both but I have tested it only under X11.

xhalma is free software. You are invited to look at the source code, modify it and give it to others as long as you grant them the same freedoms you have been given. If you have suggestions or questions don't hesitate to contact me.

'Nuff said: if you like, just download the tiny archive, unpack it and follow the instructions in the file INSTALL. Should you encounter any problems drop me a message and I will try to help you.
